Clean
A clean involves picking up a loaded barbell from the ground to the shoulders in one movement. It is the first half of the competition lift of Clean and jerk. Clean, and power variations in particular are one of the most commonly used strength and conditioning exercises for sports in general as it allows the athlete to use most muscles in their body, work on force production and force amortization.
